Reasons to Visit Costa RicaPosted by Arthur P. Maxwell |
Costa Rica is growing in population in today’s tourist market. Not only are pristine beaches on both coasts but you can also enjoy the northern regions lush forest, waterfalls, treetop walkways and zip lining. With such a diverse landscape Costa Rica is the place to choose for adventure and relaxation all in the same vacation.
The country itself is politically stable, has no army and some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. It is a natural paradise filled with wildlife, rain forest, beaches, waterfalls and the best is 2 coastlines, the Pacific and the Caribbean. With so many activities to do while visiting the diverse countries landscape might encourage you to extend your vacation upon your arrival to Costa Rica.
Traveling on a shoestring budget? Not to worry, Costa Rica has many hotels to meet every budget. The country is safe and easy to get around in and everywhere you go you will find the friendliest people who are willing and eager to assist you. Many of the luxury hotels offer all inclusive packages if you want to leave the planning to someone else.
Most people think of beaches when thinking of Costa Rica. Well, after doing your research you will realize that this amazing and small country has so much more to offer. It is home to the famous Monteverde Cloud Forest reserve, you can hike through lush jungle, surf the amazing waves of the coasts or just relax in a hammock drinking great coffee. Rest assured you will not run out of things to do.
Honeymooners can come to relax at the beach and have a romantic getaway; however Costa Rica is also a great attraction to those adventuresome types. It is best to always consider the northern part of this country when planning your trip to Costa Rica as to not miss some of the most amazing scenery you will ever see.
Costa Rica has two distinct seasons, the rainy season and the dry season. October through mid November is typically the rainy season so it’s best to plan ahead. It can be very wet, especially up north, as well as windy and much cooler than the lower regions. Check with your hotel for advice on what to expect of the weather during the time of your stay.
Many people choose to start the vacation in the tropical rainforest of Monteverde. There you will see white faced monkeys, two and three toed sloths and many species of birds. Then you can head to the active Arenal volcano or Manuel Antonio beach where more wildlife awaits you. With so many activities available, it is best to do your research before you book your trip.
In addition to the volcano, Arenal also has some amazing hot springs. There are wildlife refuges throughout the country that are a must for your trip to Costa Rica so put that on your list if there is time. You will meet amazing people along your journey and will always enjoy the company of the local people whose warm hospitality and friendly nature will welcome you at every stop.
If I had to choose over a packaged tour or going it alone, I would choose the latter. Costa Rica is rich in scenery, back roads and amazing little off the beaten path places. Touring with a large structured group will hinder you for having the incredible experience this country can provide. Live outside the box and take the roads less traveled, there is where the experience is.
